New Mexico Society uses a first-party, cookieless analytics beacon to understand page visits and navigation. It records the page path, referrer, basic campaign fields, approximate location and device category supplied at the network edge, and a per-tab session identifier. It also records clicks on links, buttons and forms: which action happened, on which page, and the link's destination without its query string. Affiliate link clicks also record our own store tag and the product ID. It does not collect names or email addresses.

Google Analytics 4 is enabled for site measurement and receives the same click events. Affiliate link clicks record the merchant, our product identifier, our own store tag, the product ID, the guide path and the link's placement. Click destinations are recorded without their query string, and click events do not include your email address, search text or a purchase amount. A click does not tell us whether you bought anything. We also use Bold Coast Analytics to understand site usage.

The site runs no advertising and has no newsletter. Some pages carry affiliate links, which are identified and covered by the affiliate disclosure.
