A pass connection is a starting point. Check the exact product and 2026–27 terms before booking: access may mean a limited number of days, reciprocal benefits, or discounts, with blackout dates or other restrictions.

Plan ahead

Check the snow report

Opening dates are plans, not promises. Check the mountain’s own report for operating days, open lifts, and available terrain before you leave. A published acreage figure is not a live snow report.

Plan the mountain drive

Check NMRoads and the resort’s road guidance before setting out. Mountain approaches can change quickly during a storm; leave time for the drive and follow current tire or chain requirements.

Give yourself time at altitude

Build a gentle arrival day into a trip from lower elevation. The CDC’s altitude guidance recommends gradual ascent and easing physical activity during the first 48 hours. Do not ascend farther if altitude symptoms develop; worsening symptoms call for descent and medical care.

How many downhill ski areas are in New Mexico?

This directory covers nine: Taos Ski Valley, Ski Santa Fe, Ski Apache, Angel Fire, Red River, Sipapu, Pajarito Mountain, Sandia Peak, and Ski Cloudcroft. Their opening days, lift schedules, and available terrain depend on conditions.

Which New Mexico ski area is biggest?

Taos Ski Valley has the largest published skiable acreage in this directory, at 1,294 acres, and 3,131 feet of vertical drop. Those are mountain statistics; they do not describe how much terrain is open on a particular day.

Does Angel Fire offer night skiing?

Angel Fire says it will not offer night skiing for the 2026–27 winter season. Check the resort’s current winter information before planning an evening on the mountain.

Can one pass cover several New Mexico ski areas?

Yes, depending on the product. Power Pass connects Sipapu, Pajarito, and Sandia Peak; Taos participates in Ikon and Mountain Collective. Angel Fire lists Powder Alliance benefits, and Red River lists Freedom Pass reciprocity. The pass tier, season, day limits, and blackout dates determine actual access.
